The Boston Bruins came into town as the Penguins looked to snap their 4-game losing streak after a tough road trip out west. Sidney Crosby wasted no time, scoring his 5th goal on the season within the first 30 seconds of the game. Boston would answer back with two of their own later in the period to make it a 2-1 game heading into the second. Pittsburgh unleashed a barrage of goals in the second as Evgeni Malkin, Josh Archibald, and Rickard Rakell each found the back of the net to put the Pens out to a commanding 5-2 lead. The Bruins would go on to answer back before the end of the second to cut the Penguins lead to 2. Boston would continue along in their comeback as they found the back of the net two more times to force overtime where they would win it, 6-5.
